Steve Erceg feels bad for Muhammad Mokaev’s UFC departure, however ‘he did it to himself’

PERTH, Australia – Steve Erceg believes Muhammad Mokaev just has himself to blame for no longer being a UFC fighter.

The UFC chose not to re-sign Mokaev (13-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) after the 23-year-old finished his agreement at UFC 304 in July. Mokaev stayed unbeaten when he beat leading competitor Manel Kape, however the promo wasn’t interested in keeping him around.

UFC CEO Dana White described that matchmakers weren’t delighted with Mokaev, with reports swirling that it was something to do his habits – not his battling design. Erceg (12-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) states Mokaev’s fate is self-inflicted.
