BEIJING — China’s economy softened in August, extending a downturn in commercial activity and genuine estate rates as Beijing dealswith pressure to ramp up costs to promote need.

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics Saturday revealed weakening activity throughout commercial production, retail sales and genuine estate this month compared to July.

“We needto be conscious that the unfavorable effects occurring from the modifications in the external environment are increasing,” stated Liu Aihua, the bureau’s chief economicexpert in a news conference.

Liu stated that need stayed inadequate at home, and the sustained financial healing still challenges several troubles and difficulties.
