(Photo: AFP) Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela beat top-seeded American Lilia Vu 2 up on Thursday as the battle for round-of-16 berths heated up at the LPGA Match-Play in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2nd day of round-robin play saw 16 gamers in the field of 64 mathematically gottenridof with one more round of group matches to come on Friday. They consistedof China’s Lin Xiyu, the highest-ranked gamer in her group, who suffered a 2nd straight defeat with her 3&2 loss to Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn. Valenzuela enhanced to 2-0 with her win over Vu, the highest-ranked gamer in the field at 4th in the world and winner of her veryfirst significant title at the Chevron Championship last month. Valenzuela routed early however won 4 holes in a five-hole period from the 6th through the 10th to take manage.
