RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin prohibited the usage of anumberof Chinese-owned apps, consistingof TikTok and WeChat, on state federalgovernment gadgets and cordless networks on Friday, calling them a hazard to nationwide security.

Youngkin’s executive order covers apps established by ByteDance and Tencent. Businesses who agreement with Virginia needto likewise forbid their usage on state-owned gadgets or IT facilities.
