Part of the appeal of deep-sea fishing is that you neverever understand what you may encounter at sea.
But one can be fairly particular that nobody would anticipate to encounter a 10-foot oarfish under attack by sharks.
The oarfish in concern, a serpent-like citizen with crimson fins, was identified goingtopieces near the surfacearea on May 28 off Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Local angler Tony Frasconi and pals, Ken and Gary, were fishing overseas when they saw the oarfish with its tail-fin missingouton while being circledaround by sharks.
Pisces Sportfishing Fleet talkedto the anglers after they returned to port.
“Incredible catch today in Cabo!” Pisces exclaimed bymeansof Facebook. “This stunning 141-pound, very unusual oarfish, was nabbed from sharks by anglers in the area fishing for marlin.”
