The browsing neighborhood is grieving the passing of Italy’s Giulia Manfrini, who passedaway last month after being struck in the chest by a jumping needlefish.
The strange event tookplace Oct. 18 as Manfrini, 36, sat on her board waiting for waves at a remote Mentawai Islands browse area in Indonesia.
According to Hidden Bay Resort, where Manfrini hadactually been remaining, the websurfer “died practically instantly” after being struck by the fish and, consequently, a set of big waves.
Needlefish are long and slim and have very sharp teeth. They victim on smallersized, education fish and sometimes leap at high speeds while attempting to ambush victim.
The Inertia, a browsing publication, specified that Manfrini was “impaled” by the needlefish at Beng Bengs browse area.
