Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving’s signature shoe with Nike is in limbo.
Nike revealed on Friday that it is suspending its longstanding relationship with Irving, who hasactually been suspended by the Nets for his failure to definitively disavow antisemitism after promoting a questionable movie on social media that consistedof “antisemitic disinformation.”
“At Nike, we think there is no location for hate speech and we condemn any type of antisemitism,” the business stated in a declaration to USA TODAY Sports. “We’ve made the choice to suspend our relationship with Kyrie Irving reliable rightaway.”

But Nike said it “will no longer launch the Kyrie 8.”
“We are deeply saddened and dissatisfied by the scenario and its effect on everybody,” Nike concluded its declaration.

Irving’s relationship with Nike started to sour long priorto his mostcurrent scandal had him back in the headings for off-court shenanigans.
In July 2021, Irving stated he had “nothing to do with the style or marketing” of the Kyrie 8 tennisshoe, explaining dripped images of the shoe as “trash.” He continued: “Nike strategies to release it without my alright regardless of what I state, so I askforgiveness in advance to all of my sneakerheads and real advocates of the KAI11 brandname.”
Irving strolled his declaration back days lateron, stating “it was unjust to put the blame on Nike or any one individual. With that being stated, we are vigilantly working, restructuring, and reimagining things together to make sure we get it .”
