NEW YORK — The Federal Trade Commission stated Tuesday that it has tooklegalactionagainst Walmart for presumably permitting its cash transfer services to be utilized by fraud artists who took “hundreds of millions of dollars” from clients.
In its claim, the company declared that for years, Walmart stoppedworking to correctly safe the cash transfer services used at its shops. The company stated Walmart didn’t appropriately train its workers, stoppedworking to alert consumers, and utilized treatments that permitted scammers to money out at its shops. The FTC is asking the court to order Walmart to return cash to customers and to enforce civil charges on the business.
