The Atlanta Braves went into this season amongst the favorites to win the National League pennant and World Series. And though it’s just July, luck plainly hasn’t been on the Braves’ side this season.
On Monday, it potentially got even evenworse.
Braves star 2nd baseman Ozzie Albies suffered a fractured wrist in Sunday’s series ending versus the Cardinals. The Albies injury required Atlanta to call up valued possibility Nacho Alvarez Jr. and to take a leaflet on 3-time All-Star Whit Merrifield (recently DFA’d by the Phillies) for some included infield depth.
Well, Merrifield barely made it out of the clubhouse before he endedupbeing the mostcurrent Braves gamer to get harm.

The Braves lost MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. to an ACL injury early in the season, and Spencer Strider likewise suffered a season-ending injury after 2 begins.
