TOKYO — Honda’s revenue for the financial year through March leapt 70% as car sales grew and a weak yen buoyed abroad profits, the Japanese carmanufacturer reported Friday.
Annual revenue at Tokyo-based Honda Motor Co. amountedto 1.1 trillion yen ($7 billion) as sales rose almost 21% to 20.4 billion yen ($131 million).
Weaker sales in China were balancedout by strong need in the U.S. market.
Honda offered more than 2.8 million lorries worldwide, up from 2.3 million a year earlier, with sales growing in Japan, the U.S. and Europe.
The maker of the Accord sedan and CR Electric Proto motorbikes was less positive about this financial year, forecasting that its revenue will decrease almost 10% to 1 trillion yen ($6.4 billion), as researchstudy and advancement costs was anticipated to boost to almost 1
