NEW YORK — JuJu Watkins has currently idea about how unique it would be to play for the U.S. in 2028 at the Olympics in her hometown of Los Angeles.

“That’s certainly a long-lasting objective of mine when I get done with my college profession,” Watkins stated in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday. “Definitely something I’m looking forward to and having the opportunity to do that in my city would certainly be a dream come real.”

For now, Watkins is focused on the present and takingpleasurein her summerseason before heading into her sophomore year at USC. The first-team AP All-American has had a hectic couple of days.

She tossed out the veryfirst pitch at a Dodgers videogame on Saturday and then flew throughout the nation to New York to take part in a Meta AI occasion Tuesday night with Chance the Rapper.

“That was certainly insane, a dream come real,” she stated of the pitch. “Grew up a Dodgers fan and to be able to go on the mound and pitch it was truly cool. That was like a halfcourt shot, that was quite far.”

Watkins, who is cool on the court, confessed that being on the mound was stressful.

“Definitely a lot of pressure. Top 5 most worried minutes for me. As long as it didn’t bounce I was great,” she stated.
