The Transportation Security Administration is raising the fine for individuals captured with a weapon in their carry-on bag after obstructing a record number of guns at security checkpoints this year.
The TSA stated Friday it’s raising the optimum fine to $14,950. Previously it was $13,910.
TSA officers haveactually discovered 6,301 guns in carry-on bags so far this year, surpassing the previous record of 5,972 found in2021 The numbers haveactually been increasing progressively over the last years; in 2012, 1,549 guns were discovered at security checkpoints.
Eighty-eight percent of the weapons discovered this year were filled, the TSA stated.
