VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau satisfied with top authorities Wednesday after the longshore union restored a 72-hour strike notification. The notification was lateron rescinded by the union which shut down ports on Canada’s west coast earlier this month for almost 2 weeks.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada stated late Wednesday in a quick note to its residents in British Columbia that the strike notification set for July 22 at 9 a.m. “has now been gottenridof.”
With the 72-hour notification raised, the union can’t resume strike action unless it files another notification, according to the Canada Industrial Relations Board choice released versus the union on Wednesday.
The previous strike shut down British Columbia ports for 13 days at the start of the month, stalling freight worth billions.
