UVA’s work showing on the relativity of time is analyzed by the creative director and Traplord choreographer.
For this unique efficiency, dance artist Ivan Michael Blackstock drew motivation from United Visual Artists’ setup Our Time, presently revealing at London’s 180 Studios as part of UVA’s career-spanning Synchronicity exhibit.
Blackstock, whose 180 Studios-produced program Traplord won the 2023 Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production, produced a physical analysis of Our Time that mirrors the method in which the setup manifests the relativity of time — how it can relatively speed up, sluggish down, or stop entirely.
Synchronicity is open upuntil 28 January, 2024 at London’s 180 Studios and includes anumberof brand-new works consistingof Polyphony and Ensemble, as well as site-specific variations of works from the cumulative produced over the past 20 years.
