It was the yearly occasion celestial watchers got to delightin (and perhaps got a particular Johnny Cash tune stuck in your head).
It’s the solar eclipse understood as the “ring of fire,” duetothefactthat it’s the moon covering the sun, leaving light around the edges and producing an astonishing result.
The pictures from the occasion were fantastic, with particular parts of the United States — mainly the West Coast and down through New Mexico — and South America getting to witness it in individual (with the correct equipment so no one’s eyes got damaged).
