A Colorado guy madeitthrough a night on a mountain by himself – while hurt – after being left behind by his colleagues throughout an workplace retreat, which rescue authorities pointed out might lead to some “awkward encounters at the workplace in the coming days and weeks”.
Colorado’s Chaffee County Search and Rescue South (CCSAR-S) shared the hiker’s painful experience in a Facebook post earlier this week, stating that at about 9pm last Friday, it was “activated for a report of an pastdue hiker”. The hiker was using all black on the requirement path of Mount Shavano, a high mountain top in the southern Sawatch variety of the Rocky mountains.
The hiker was part of a 15-person group that embarked on an workplace hiking retreat, with one group finishing top efforts and a different group rising to the saddle and returning from there, CCSAR-S composed in its post.
“When the topic summited at 11: 30[am] and turned to descend, he endedupbeing disoriented, finding personalbelongings left in the stone field to mark the descent by the previous group havingactually been chosen up as they treked down,” CCSAR-S stated, including: “In his preliminary efforts to descend, he discovered himself in the high stone and scree field on the northeast slopes towards Shavano Lake.”
The group keptinmind that the hiker sentout a place pin drop to his colleagues who were currently comingdown. The colleagues then notified him that his path was incorrect and advised him to climb back up the slope onceagain to gainback the path.
