Dec. 5 (UPI) — The Israeli military stated it has recuperated the body Itay Svirsky, an Israeli captive held by Hamas in Gaza for more than a year.
Svirsky’s body was recuperated in a joint operation of the Shin Bet intelligence firm and the Israel Defense Forces, the IDF spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari stated in a video declaration.
The 38-year-old hadactually been amongst the 251 individuals abducted from Israel and brought into Gaza by Hamas throughout the militant group’s bloody surprise attack on Oct. 7, 2023, which likewise eliminated about 1,200 individuals.
