California Gov. Gavin Newsom has a message for Floridians: Come to California.
Newsom is running ads over the July 4th weekend assaulting Republicans’ actions in Florida, such as a 15-week abortion restriction, the “Don’t Say Gay” law and recent ballot laws.
“It’s Independence Day. So, let’s talk about what’s going on in America,” Newsom states in the advertisement. “Freedom is under attack in your state.”
Newsom’s ad comes as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis hasactually signed some questionable legislation into law, consistingof the Parental Rights in Education law, which restricts conversation of sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade class, and a 15-week abortion restriction, one of the more limiting in the nation.
“Republican leaders, they’re prohibiting books. Making it moredifficult to vote, restricting speech in class, even criminalizing females and physicians,” Newsom stated.
