After Jake Paul beat Mike Perry, the veryfirst name he dropped on the microphone was his next test, Mike Tyson.
That didn’t come as a surprise. Paul has consistently voiced interest in specific matches over the years. Tyson is one. Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz (again) are others.
But a brand-new name came out of his mouth Saturday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., when he called out UFC light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira.
“I desire everyone,” Paul stated at a post-fight news conference. “I love this sport. He’s tweeted about desiring to go into boxing. We got him on the FaceTime right there in the ring. I stated, ‘Yo, can you get out of your agreement?’ If he can get out of his agreement, then let’s run it. When I asked him that, he had a timeout. He looked at his supervisor (Ed Soares). While potential matches constantly get battle sports neighborhoods buzzing, the probability of the battle infact occurring is low, confessed Paul.
Pereira is still under agreement with the UFC, an company that hasactually revealed absolutelyno interest in co-promotion of any kind.
