The stage is set for an epic showdown between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night in Norman. It’s the fifth meeting all-time between the two historic programs, with the Sooners holding a 3-1 edge in the series.
Now, with Oklahoma in the SEC, we’ll be getting more matchups between the two programs, creating an opportunity to establish new rivalries.
Storylines abound as Josh Heupel makes his first trip to Norman on a sideline since 2014. Oklahoma’s last national championship-winning quarterback helped usher in the Air Raid offense that took college football by storm. His two years at the helm for the Sooners helped establish the Sooners as one of the more prolific offensive programs in the country, a reality that’s lasted for 25 years since his arrival.
Now on the opposite sideline, Heupel has made his mark on college football, orchestrating his own high-powered offenses on Rocky Top.
It will be the first SEC matchup between two former five-star quarterbacks as Jackson Arnold and Nico Iamaleava face off against each other for the first time. The two prospects out of the stacked 2023 quarterback recruiting class will play a key role in the outcome of Saturday night’s game.
It’s a top-15 matchup to kick off SEC play for both programs and if you’re looking for all the broadcast information for Saturday night, we’ve got you covered.

Oklahoma 23, Tennessee 20: The Oklahoma Sooners enter Saturday night’s contest in unfamiliar territory as a home underdog. Many are expecting Tennessee to win this one, but the Sooners boast a strong defense and this will be Nico Iamaleava’s first true road start. The Sooners offense is trending in a positive direction after their performance against Tulane and should be able to do enough to have a chance to come up with the win.
Odds: Tennessee minus-7
