The Oklahoma Sooners have formally workedwith their brand-new offending planner for the 2025 season.
Former Washington State and Western Kentucky offending planner Ben Arbuckle will take over as offensive planner and quarterbacks coach with the Sooners and will serve as the playcaller.
Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables shared his ideas on Arbuckle through a press release on Monday night after reports emerged earlier in the day of the Sooners OC choice.

Arbuckle participatedin Canadian High School, playing quarterback in the Texas panhandle. He played college football at Division II West Texas A&M University, finishing in 2018.
He was a quality control coach at Houston Baptist from 2018 to 2019 under offensive planner Zach Kittley, who justrecently served as Texas Tech’s offensive planner and is apparently going to be the next head coach at Florida Atlantic. Arbuckle was then employed to be the offensive planner/quarterbacks coach at Seminole High School in Texas for the 2020 season.
Arbuckle rejoined Kittley at Western Kentucky in 2021 as an offensive quality control coach, assisting to coach Bailey Zappe throughout a record-breaking season for the Hilltoppers. When Kittley, then Western Kentucky’s offensive organizer, left for the exactsame task at Texas Tech, Arbuckle was called co-OC/QBs coach, calling plays for the veryfirst time at the college level in 2022.
