Sarah Michelle Gellar confirms ‘Buffy’ revival dead at Hulu

March 14 (UPI) — Sarah Michelle Gellar announced on Instagram on Saturday that her revival of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer is not moving forward. Gellar was set to reprise her role of Buffy Summers training a new slayer in a Hulu series.

“Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy: New Sunnydale,” Gellar said on Instragam.

Gellar only announced the project three years after Executive Producer Chloe Zhao had pitched her an idea. Nora and Lila Zuckerman joined to develop the new series.

“Thanks to Chloe, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you and this doesn’t change any of that,” Gellar said.
