Hocevar rallies on brand-new tires to take Richmond Truck win

Hocevar ran into problem priorto the race even started when he was required to pit throughout rate laps for a flat tire and had to line up at the back of the field.

Hocevar, 20, systematically made his method back up the field and while Ty Majeski – who led the most laps – attempted to race to the surface without pitting for brand-new tires, Hocevar was amongst those who pit under green for the fresh rubber.

The brand-new tires paid off huge, as Hocevar made up a more than 15-second deficit and passed Majeski for the lead with 3 of 250 laps to go. He cleared Majeski by 2.308 seconds at the checkered flag to make his 3rd success of the year.

“I suck at this location and we at Niece Motorsports suck at this location – we’re dreadful,” Hocevar stated. “My splitter’s gone duetothefactthat I got a flat tire priorto we even went (green). We passed every single truck here.

“(Majeski) kind of tossed it away however still he was quickly I had the second-best truck the I had the first-best pit team and the first-best team chief on the box.”

Joining Hocevar in the in the 2023 playoffs are routine season champ Corey Heim, Majeski, last year’s champ Zane Smith, Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger, Christian Eckes, Nick Sanchez, Matt DiBenedetto and Matt Crafton.
