I compose the tunes, play the tunes, sing the tunes, and hope that the music will bring you some sort of peace in this extremely disorderly world. I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina with my fiancé, my mama, my guitars, and keyboards. I live in the home I grew up in and my studio is in my old bedroom filled with loads of records and a huge CD collection that I definitely refuse to get rid of.
Tell us about your brand-new album Shine, and the motivation behind it.
Shine was a record that I composed to ideally bring some peace and recovery to a afraid and disorderly world. I desired to emphasize love and empathy. I think that the easy act of generosity and being great to one another has the capability to modification the world.
I feel like the album truly takes the listener on a journey into my heart.
What was the songwriting and recording procedure?
The songwriting procedure is constantly various. Some of the tunes on this album I composed in 30 minutes, and some, like “Down the Line,” for circumstances, took years. I think that specific tune took me about 18 years to surface. I believe I required to live a little more priorto I might figure out precisely what I desired to state. The album was taped at Omni Sound Studios in Nashville, TN, produced by William Gawley and co-produced by Pat McGrath. We taped throughout the pandemic in August of2020 I had an remarkable group of artists mainly due to the reality that they were doing session work rather of visiting throughout Covid. Everything was tape-recorded in Nashville otherthan for the support vocals which I chose to take back house with me and record with Brad Rudolph at Falling Waters Studio in Pisgah Forest, NC. I had my excellent pal and fellow artist Carrie Morrison provide her angelic voice to the bulk of the consistency vocals, and then I roped in my duo partner and music director Bradford Carson to assistance with the rest. I feel like the album truly takes the listener on a journey into my heart.
What do you hope your fans/listeners take away with them when they listen to your music?
