Dec. 28 (UPI) — The FAA stated Thursday it is carefully tracking targeted evaluations of Boeing’s 737 Max airplane looking for a possible loose bolt problem in the airplane’s rudder control system.

Boeing has advised operators of morerecent single-aisle planes to examine particular tie rods managing rudder motion to appearance for possible loose hardware, and the FAA stated it was in contact with the business and airlinecompanies as evaluations are underway.

“The firm is asking the airlinecompanies to work through their authorized Safety Management Systems to recognize whether any loose hardware hasactually been identified formerly and to supply the firm with information on how rapidly these two-hour examinations can be finished,” the FAA stated.
