Dec. 30 (UPI) — Pop music star, dancer and TELEVISION character Paula Abdul has tooklegalactionagainst American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance manufacturer Nigel Lythgoe for declared sexual attack.
People.com, TMZ and Deadline reported that the suit was submitted in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday under the Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act, which safeguards lawsuits submitted after statute of restrictions has ended.
The files implicate Lythgoe, 74, of physically abusing Abdul, 60, while she was serving as a judge on Lythgoe’s competitors series.
Abdul stated Lythgoe attacked Abdul assoonas throughout the early seasons of Idol in the 2000s and another time in 2015 while she worked on SYTYCD.
She declared Lythgoe sexually attacked her assistant, as well.
Abdul stated she didn’t come forward previously because she was scared she would be fired in retaliation.
