Dec. 30 (UPI) — The Biden administration states it hasactually enabled a $147 million emergencysituation arms sale to Israel without congressional approval as Jerusalem ramps up its war efforts versus Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip.
The White House avoided Congress on Friday and authorized an emergencysituation allowance of $147.5 million to sendout 155mm weapons shells and supporting devices to Israel under the arrangements of the Arms Export Control Act, the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency revealed.
“The Secretary of State hasactually identified and supplied detailed reason to Congress that an emergencysituation exists that needs the instant sale to the federalgovernment of Israel of the above defense posts and services in the nationwide security interests of the United States,” Defense Security Cooperation Agency authorities stated in a declaration.
The relocation comes as the death toll in Israel’s war versus Hamas militants in Gaza increased past 21,600 on Saturday, according to Palestinian health authorities.
Israel Defense Forces authorities stated the attack versus Hamas is continuing with advances in and around the southern city of Khan Yunis. IDF authorities stated they robbed a Hamas military headoffice base belonging to the terrorist group’s military intelligence chief.
In addition to the Israeli arms sale, the United States likewise revealed the release of a direct military help payment to Ukraine, which got $250 million for arms and devices
