March 16 (UPI) — David Breashears, pioneering mountaineer, filmmaker and environment activist, has passedaway in his Massachusetts home, his household revealed. He was 68.

Family members validated to Outside Magazine on Friday that Breashears had passedaway, and his passing was likewise keptinmind by fellow climbers Ed Viesturs, Kathy Harvard and Jed Williamson.

“It is with significant unhappiness that we share the news of David Breashears’ unfortunate passing,” his household stated in a declaration released to WCVB-TV. “David was a precious sibling, uncle, daddy, pal and associate and a caring, impassioned supporter of experience, expedition, and the health of our world.”

Breashears climbedup to the top of Mt. Everest 5 times in his life and sent the veryfirst live tv images from the top in 1983.

Footage of his exploration in 1996 was made into the function movie Everest, which created more than $120 million in income and got him celeb status amongst outdoors
