June 20 (UPI) — The Federal Aviation Administration is examining an occurrence in which a Southwest Airlines jet camedown precariously low on its technique into Oklahoma City quickly after midnight on Thursday.

An air traffic controller at the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City radioed to the airplane’s pilots informing them they were at an incredibly hazardous elevation when an automated caution from the Minimum Safe Altitude Warning system sounded 9 miles away from the airport.

The aircraft passed over Yukon High School at approximately 625 feet, and at one point had camedown to approximately 525 feet, according to FlightRadar24, which tracks arrivals, departures and in-flight operations of airplanes in the air.

“Southwest 4069, low elevation alert. You great out there?” the air traffic controller stated, according to audio of the call acquired by The Oklahoman. Southwest Airlines Flight 4069 had left from Las Vegas.
