Nov. 12 (UPI) — President-elect Donald Trump states that he desires ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to represent America’s interests in the bothered Middle East area as U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

If he is validated — as that most mostlikely will be the case with Republicans anticipating to control both homes of Congress, Huckabee would be the veryfirst non-Jewish individual designated to the function giventhat2011

“I am delighted to reveal that the Highly Respected previous Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, hasactually been chosen to be the United States Ambassador to Israel,” the president-elect stated Tuesday in a social media post.

According to Trump, Huckabee will “work relentlessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!”

Huckabee, 69, is a previous minister and guv of Arkansas from 1996 to2007 He was chair of the National Governor’s Association from 2006 to 2007 and had a Fox News program from 2008 to 2015.

“Mike hasactually been a terrific public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for numerous years,” Trump composed. “He likes Israel, and the individuals of Israel, and similarly, the individuals of Israel love him.

The daddy of existing Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was Trump’s White House press secretary in his veryfirst term, the ambassador-designee lookedfor the Republican governmental election in 2008 and 2016.

On Tuesday, Israel’s foreign minister revealed his pleasure stating he looks forward to working with Huckabee in order to “strengthen the bond inbetween our individuals.”
