Top 5 CFB rivalry matchups to watch this weekend

2 minutes, 30 seconds Read

We’ve reached the final week of the 2024 college football regular season, as several rivalry matchups have major implications regarding conference championship games and potential bids to the College Football Playoff. Led by the return of the Lone Star Showdown between Texas A&M and Texas, both teams need a win to reach the SEC Title game vs. Georgia.

However, watching football during Thanksgiving weekend is about entertainment. No matter the postseason implications and rankings, from the The Game to the Egg Bowl, there are plenty of viewing options from Friday afternoon to Saturday night.

Focusing on the revival of the Lone Star Showdown, both programs will meet on the gridiron for the first time in 13 years, as future Hall of Fame kicker Justin Tucker hit the game-winning field goal in Kyle Field just a month before Texas A&M moved to the SEC at the start of the 2012 season.

While everything is on the line, this should be an exciting matchup regardless of the outcome. Here are the Top 5 college football rivalries to watch this weekend.
