ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Wind power designers proposed 4 brand-new jobs off the New Jersey Shore on Friday, a rise that would more than double the number of wind farms developed off its coast if they are authorized by regulators.

At least 2 of them are more than twotimes as far out to sea than others that haveactually drawn the ire of citizens who wear’t desire to see windmills on the horizon. These 2 would not be noticeable from the beach, the business proposing them state.

In the veryfirst task to be made public Friday by the business proposing it, Essen, Germany-based RWE and New York-based National Grid used for consent to construct a wind farm in the waters off Long Beach Island. Their joint endeavor is called Community Offshore Wind, and it intends to produce enough electricalpower to power 500,000 houses.

Unlike other tasks that haveactually drawn extreme opposition from houseowners in part duetothefactthat they are close sufficient to the Atlantic City and Ocean City coastlines to be seen by beachgoers, this task would be developed 37 miles (59 kilometers) offshore and would not be noticeable from the coast, stated Doug Perkins, president and job director of Community Offshore Wind.
