After days of speculation, the veteran left-winger stated she was the “adopted Labour prospect” in Hackney North and Stoke Newington. A bitter row over whether the celebration would choose her as its prospect in the seat has controlled the veryfirst week of marketing. Ms Abbott likewise rejected reports she was amongst a number of Labour MPs who hadactually been provided peerages in return for standing aside. Writing on X, she stated: “I have neverever been provided a seat in the Lords, and would not accept one if used”. “I plan to run and to win as Labour’s prospect,” she included. The celebration is yet to remark. Later on the verysame night, Ms Abbott called Sir Keir a “liar” in reaction to his claim he had regard for her. However, she quickly erased the social media post. It comes after Baroness Chakrabarti, a close ally, advised her to “take some time” to thinkabout whether she desires to stand for Labour at the basic election.
