A traveler aircraft has crashed and captured fire soon after taking off from Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, killing 18 individuals, airtravel authorities state.

The pilot was the just survivor of Wednesday’s crash and was being dealtwith in healthcarefacility, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal stated in a declaration.

Nineteen individuals were on the test flight performed by the domestic provider Saurya Airlines, consistingof technical personnel members and 2 team members.

The event took location right after the 11: 11am (05: 26 GMT) launch of the 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200, the airtravel authority stated. The aircraft then turned right and crashed into the eastern area of the airport, the declaration stated. It was on its method to the resort town of of Pokhara. The cause of the crash is being examined.

A medicalprofessional at Kathmandu Medical College Hospital informed The Associated Press news firm that the pilot had suffered injuries to the eyes “but is not in any risk”.

The bodies were taken to the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for autopsy.

Images of the after-effects shared by Nepal’s military revealed the aircraft’s fuselage split apart and charred.

Broadcast images revealed the bodies being brought to ambulances on stretchers. Other visuals revealed rescue employees searching through the burned stays of the aircraft.
