The search started for the 64-year-old male around 3.15pm, with NSW cops and numerous marine rescue craft included.
The search centred on Lennards Island, off Merimbula, where it was believed the the guy hadactually been spearfishing.
The search was suspended about 5.30pm on Saturday due to bad light and when it resumed on Sunday, the guy was situated around 9.15pm, on the coast within the Beowa National Park.
He was transferred by boat to Snug Cove, Eden, where he was evaluated by NSW Ambulance paramedics. Coordinating the search was the Marine Area Command in what Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Glenn Sullivan stated was an “exposed” location of shoreline.
