WASHINGTON — More Americans used for unemployed advantages last week as the number of outofwork continues to increase decently, though the labor market stays one of the greatest parts of the U.S. economy.

Applications for outofwork help for the week ending July 30 increased by 6,000 to 260,000 from the previous week’s 254,000, the Labor Department reported Thursday. First-time applications usually show layoffs.
