Boeing’s greatest provider of airplane elements stated Friday that it will briefly furlough 700 employees lateron this month, caution that it would have to resort to layoffs if a strike by Boeing machinists lasts beyond November.
Spirit AeroSystems stated Friday that beginning Oct. 28, staffmembers who develop parts of Boeing 767s and 777s will be off the task for 3 weeks. A strike by about 33,000 Boeing employees in the Pacific Northwest that began Sept. 13 halted production of those aircrafts and Boeing 737 Max jets.
