Meta, Facebook’s momsanddad business, has lost an appeal in a Kenyan labor court

NAIROBI, Kenya — NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Facebook ’s momsanddad business Meta on Friday lost its appeal in a Kenyan labor court that ruled the business might be tooklegalactionagainst in Kenya over the mass sacking of material mediators.
The court had earlier ruled that Kenyan courts had jurisdiction over the matter, however Meta challenged the judgment on appeal.
The case submitted by some 185 material mediators from various African nations who were working for a Meta specialist, Sama, in Nairobi will now continue in the labor court, their attorney, Mercy Mutemi, stated Friday. They are lookingfor $1.6 billion in settlement.
Facebook is dealingwith 2 suits in Kenya, the veryfirst one submitted by material mediator Daniel Motaung who declares the business madeuseof him and his coworkers and harmed their psychological health. The 2nd case submitted by 185 mediators difficulties the termination of their work agreements.
