DETROIT — A entrepreneur pleaded guilty Friday to payingoff the head of a Michigan cannabis licensing board, the veryfirst conviction in a federal examination into benefits and other advantages priorto the panel was dissolved in 2019.
John Dalaly appeared in federal court in Grand Rapids, 2 weeks after his plea offer was revealed.
Dalaly stated he supplied at least $68,200 in money and other advantages to Rick Johnson, consistingof 2 personal flights to Canada.
Johnson, 70, was chairman of the cannabis board for 2 years. The board examined and authorized applications to grow and sell cannabis for medical functions.
