BEIRUT — Hearings in the $1 billion claim submitted by automobile magnate Carlos Ghosn versus Nissan and other accuseds began in Beirut on Monday with legalrepresentatives of both sides conference the judge in charge of the case, judicial authorities stated.
The previous Nissan CEO submitted the case versus Nissan in May in Beirut, declaring he was apprehended in Japan in 2018 on incorrect charges since of what he calls the automaker’s disinformation versus him. The 69-year-old Ghosn is lookingfor half of the $1 billion in damages and half for payment consistingof income, retirement funds and stock alternatives.
Ghosn is likewise lookingfor financial payment from a Nissan affiliate based in Lebanon, as well as from entities that took part in the examination leading up to his arrest.
He was apprehended in Japan in November 2018 on charges of breach of trust, misusing business properties for individual gains and breaking securities laws by not completely revealing his settlement. In December 2019, he leapt bail in Japan in a bold escape by concealed
