Image source, PA Media Boris Johnson, the UK’s previous prime minister, hasactually dealtwith a barbecuing from a committee or MPs on whether he purposefully deceived Parliament over lockdown celebrations. Our political reporter Ione Wells had a ringside seat in the committee space, and political editor Chris Mason was on the edge of his seat all afternoon. From handwritten notes to wry smiles and tense exchanges, here’s what they made of it. Boris Johnson is constantly somebody who hasactually utilized – or tried to usage – humour in his speeches, even when he is attempting to get out of the stickiest of scenarios. He protected his view that his participation at events was in the guidelines, stating that throughout the birthday event for him – which the cops offered him a fine for – the cake was put in a Tupperware box and lateron consumed by his personal secretaries. The remark got a coupleof wry smiles in the space from viewers. But he was plainly attempting to keep his tone more major than typical, offered what’s at stake for his political profession. As the concerns came thick and quick, Mr Johnson was being quite bold.
