IEA: Asia set to usage half of world’s electricalpower by 2025

BERLIN — Asia will for the veryfirst time usage half of the world’s electricalenergy by 2025, even as Africa continues to takein far less than its share of the international population, according to a brand-new projection launched Wednesday by the International Energy Agency.

Much of Asia’s electricalpower usage will be in China, a country of 1.4 billion individuals whose share of international usage will increase from a quarter in 2015 to a 3rd by the middle of this years, the Paris-based body stated.

“China will be takingin more electricalpower than the European Union, United States and India integrated,” stated Keisuke Sadamori, the IEA’s director of energy markets and security.
