WASHINGTON — The IRS commissioner has asked the Treasury Department’s internal guarddog to rightaway evaluation the situations surrounding extensive tax audits that targeted ex-FBI Director James Comey and previous Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, regular targets of Donald Trump’s ire throughout his presidency.
