The Israeli military states it hasactually started “targeted ground raids” on towns in southern Lebanon.
The attacks backed by air strikes and weapons started “a coupleof hours ago”, targeting Hezbollah “in towns close to the border” with Israel, according to a declaration launched early on Tuesday by the military.
It included that the raids were “limited, localised and targeted” versus Hezbollah.
The attack came soon after it was authorized by Israeli political leaders and significant a brand-new phase in Israel’s war versus Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Lebanese armed group. Hezbollah started low-intensity strikes on Israeli targets a day after Israel released its war on Gaza last October following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
