Israel states has began ‘targeted ground raids’ in Lebanon

The Israeli military states it hasactually started “targeted ground raids” on towns in southern Lebanon.

The attacks backed by air strikes and weapons started “a coupleof hours ago”, targeting Hezbollah “in towns close to the border” with Israel, according to a declaration launched early on Tuesday by the military.

It included that the raids were “limited, localised and targeted” versus Hezbollah.

The attack came soon after it was authorized by Israeli political leaders and significant a brand-new phase in Israel’s war versus Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Lebanese armed group. Hezbollah started low-intensity strikes on Israeli targets a day after Israel released its war on Gaza last October following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.

“I actually hope we are talking about a restricted ground operation,” Israel’s previous justice minister Yossi Belin informed Al Jazeera from Tel Aviv. “We understand it’s extremely hard to control from the past even if the federalgovernment is genuine in its dream to end it rapidly and to attain the primary goal which is to cut Hezbollah contenders and permit Israelis to go back to their towns in the north.”

Earlier on Monday, UnitedStates authorities stated Israel had introduced little ground raids versus Hezbollah and sealed off neighborhoods along its northern border on Monday as Israeli weapons pounded southern Lebanon.
