KATHMANDU, Nepal — Nepal’s federalgovernment chose to restriction the popular social media app TikTok on Monday, stating it was interferingwith “social consistency” in the nation.
The statement was made following a Cabinet conference. Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud stated the app would be prohibited instantly.
“The federalgovernment has chose to restriction TikTok as it was required to control the usage of the social media platform that was interrupting social consistency, goodwill and circulation of indecent products,” Saud stated.
He stated that to make social media platforms responsible, the federalgovernment has asked the business to register and open a intermediary workplace in Nepal, pay taxes and abide by the nation’s laws and policies.
