DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — A brand-new effort hasactually started to shot to salvage an oil tanker burning in the Red Sea after attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, a European Union marine objective stated Saturday.
The EU’s Operation Aspides released images outdated Saturday of its vessels accompanying 3 ships heading to the Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion.
The objective has “been actively included in this complex undertaking, by developing a safeandsecure environment, which is required for the tugboats to conduct the hauling operation,” the EU stated.
A phone number for the objective called unanswered Saturday. However, satellite images taken Saturday earlymorning by Planet Labs PBC and lateron evaluated by The Associated Press revealed what appeared to be the 3 salvage vessels close to the Sounion. A warship might be seen closeby.
