LONDON — Several individuals were hurt after the Flying Scotsman, the historical steam engine that’s commemorating its 100th anniversary this year, was included in a low-speed crash with another heritage train in the Scottish Highlands on Friday, authorities stated.
The National Railway Museum stated the “shunting occurrence” took location at Aviemore Station in the Cairngorms National Park. The station is house to a heritage train line that takes visitors on steam train journeys in northern Scotland.
The engine — typically explained as the world’s most well-known steam engine — was arranged to run brief journeys this weekend from the station as part of its centenary events. Strathspey Railway stated journeys wouldn’t go ahead Saturday, and it stayed unpredictable whether the journeys will go ahead on Sunday.
