Israel has concurred to sendout arbitrators to a brand-new round of talks over a ceasefire and captive release offer, after a diplomatic push from the United States, Egypt and Qatar. The 3 countries launched a joint declaration on Thursday pressing for the talks to take location inbetween Israel and Hamas on 15 August in Doha or Cairo. Hamas is yet to respond. The declaration stated a “framework contract” was allset and that it had “only the information of execution left to conclude”. The push for brand-new talks will be seen as an effort by the UnitedStates and its partners to stop local stress from spiralling out of control, after Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran last week. Iran, blaming Israel, has pledged a reaction – though Israel has not commented straight on the killing.
