Nearly half of the workers presently working at “buy now, pay lateron” start-up Klarna might be changed by AI in the next coupleof years.
Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski informed The Financial Times last week that the business intends to practically cutinhalf its laborforce within the next coupleof years, from 3,800 individuals to 2,000. Instead of layoffs, the business will continue its employing freeze that began in September and not hire replacements for individuals who leave the business.
“By just not employing, which we sanctuary’t done because September … the business is kind of endingupbeing smallersized and smallersized,” Siemiatkowski mentioned. He pointed out that the average profits per Klarna worker had increased by 73% year-over-year.
