Roshi Jain, Senior Fund Manager – Equity at HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC), explains that their approach is centered around a bottom-up stock selection strategy, focusing on quality companies with reasonable valuations.
She mentions that over the last year, HDFC Flexi Cap Fund saw an increase in exposure to financials and consumer discretionary sectors, while reducing allocations to utilities, industrials, and energy.
Looking ahead, Jain is optimistic about the future of Indian equities. “We remain positive about Indian equities in the medium to long term, with strong domestic growth prospects, healthy corporate earnings, and favorable policy support,” she says.
However, she advises that investors remain selective, as the markets are currently trading at a premium relative to historical averages. The key, she emphasises, will be to identify stocks with long-term growth drivers and focus on those companies that can maintain their competitive edge over time.
